# Enterprise tier

> The business plan of an AI tool. Unlike consumer plans, it typically does not train on your data by default and runs under a formal data agreement.

**Category:** Safety, Claude

**The enterprise tier is the business version of an AI tool.** The important difference is not features but data handling: on business and enterprise plans, your inputs are typically **not used to train the model by default**, and use sits under a formal data agreement. On many consumer plans, the default leans the other way.

That is why the real privacy line at work is **personal versus business, not free versus paid.** A paid personal plan is not the same as a business agreement. Check which tier your organisation is on before sharing anything sensitive.

## At work

Your company's Claude for Work (Team or Enterprise) account does not train on your chats by default. A personal Pro account is not the same, so keep work data on the work account.

## Often confused with

A paid personal plan. Paying as an individual does not give you the business data terms; the divide is personal versus business.
